Delta Green
Delta Green is a supplement for Call of
Cthulhu set in the late 1990's. The supplement details the work of a
secret conspiracy group known as Delta Green whose mission is to defend
the United States and the World from Paranormal Threats. Delta Green
agents maintain "day jobs" working within existing law enforcement and
research agencies such as the FBI, CIA, the Armed Forces, or any other
government agency.
The players play Delta Green Agents and "Friendlies". The entire set-up
is designed to provide a convenient and plausible excuse to throw together
investigators for a Call of Cthulhu adventure with a reason to investigate
Mythos-related crimes, always a challenge in a standard 1990's Call of
Cthulhu campaign.
The supplement is very well done by the talented writers at Pagan Publishing. They have been
producing Call of Cthulhu products of steadily increasing depth and
quality. Though their style is a little more post-modern than
Lovecraftian, it's still excellently written and thoroughly researched.
This digital resource is meant to provide support for the Delta Green
Game Master by offering scenarios, ideas, artwork, and hyperlinks.
Agents
- Assistant Director Warren Glass, FBI, aka "Agent Todd"
- Warren Glass is a tough-as-nails veteran who served too long as a Special
Agent in the FBI. A head wound in Texas in 1983 saddled him with a desk
job. Now he's a Delta Green agent in charge of T-Cell, known as the
"Killer-T Cell" (a little lymphatic humor).
- 2nd Lt. Shannon Brisk, USMC, aka "Agent Thorn"
- Marine Sniper and military advisor. She maintains her dream of combat
duty despite the Marine's prohibition on female combatants. She currently
teaches sharpshooting at to the FBI at Quantico.
- Inspector Derrick Harper, aka "Agent Tiberius"
- Harper is a Postal Inspector for the US Postal Service. He investigates mail crimes using his canine companion, Rex.
- James Morsay, CIA, aka "Agent Tipps"
- Morsay is a CIA data analyst whose job is to find meaningful data in
seemingly mindless static and chatter. He is able to see patterns and make
correlations out of chaos and randomness. (DECEASED)
Friendlies
- Dr. Jonathan Donalds, MD, CDC
- Dr. Donalds is an expert on virulent infectious agents for the CDC.
- Special Agent Ivana Lake, FBI
- Though she is called "Crazy Ivan" by her peers, Agent Lake is a
dedicated FBI officer with a background in Forensic Psychology.
- Sara Connors, WUFO
- Sarah Connors is a radio psychic for Charlotte talk-station WUFO, 550
AM. Though she lacks any real observable parapsychic ability, her natural
insight into people's personalities, combined with her disarming charisma,
is enough to fool the most hardened skeptic, at least for a while.
Profiles
- Dr. Xenos, CSICOP
- Dr. Xeno is Sarah Connors' chief nemesis. His arch-skepticism makes him blind to possible real paranomal phenomena, and his unceasing dedication to debunking Dr. Connors and her claims is her biggest challenge.
- Agent Blythe Demarconi, NRO
- Demarconi is an assassin for the NRO. She is a highly trained covert operative who has seen too many John Woo films. For Game Masters ONLY!
- Mayana Lafayette
- Lafayette is a Voodoun priestess from New Orleans. She defies stereotype, however, for she is young, attractive, and college educated. For Game Masters ONLY!
Intelligence
- The MIB and Delta Green
- An interpretation of the MIB phenomena in the context of the Cthulhu
Mythos (see above). The connections between the Kn'Yan of "the Mound" and
modern MIB stories are so close as to be eerie. For Game Masters ONLY!
- Delta Green Report: Extraterrestial Activity
on Earth
- A secret comprehensive Delta Green report on known (and unknown) alien
activity on Earth. This list does not include single visits by alien
entities, only recurrent or constant activity or presence by an
extraterrestial biologial organism or organism. For Game Masters ONLY!
- Detla Green Report: Army of the Yellow Sign
- A communique to all Delta Green Agents regarding available data on a potentially dangerous militia group, the Army of the Yellow Sign. For Game Masters ONLY!
- MJ-12 Intelligence Brief on Delta Green Cell Organization.
- They may know more than you think they know or want them to know. Find out who's who and what's what. If you have a character to add to the list, please e-mail me at conkle@mecha.com
- T-Cell Case Files
- Case Reports on the newly reconstituted T-Cell.
Story Seeds
- Contagious Bacteriological Agent X-209
- The Agents are assigned to find an ex-NSA agent and bring him in for questioning. He is tracked down to a remote logging town in Washington State, the site of, among other things, UFO sightings and an outbreak of an unknown and deadly disease! As the CDC quarrantines the area, can the agents find their man and discover the cause of the outbreak in time?
- The Game
- A group of teens in Arkham turn up
dead, apparently as a part of ritualistic suicide pact. Reports of children manipulating their parents into purchasing hundreds of dollars in game books, as if by some kind of magic. College students go mad while exploring the steam tunnels under Miskatonic U. Their only
connection? They all appear to be players of a mysterious role-playing game called
"Return of the Old Ones".
- Spawn of the Black Goat
- A small town in Minnesota is terrorized by attacks of a vicious mutant creature. A man is killed and Delta Green sends people to investigate. The creature is tracked down and killed and all seems well, but the attacks soon continue. Clues lead to a reclusive farm of nature-loving pagans, and one who has taken her obession in zoophilia too far. The investigators are able to track her sick perversion through her Web page and surveillance, but the big break comes when her frightned partner secretly reveals all, resulting in a horrible confrontation in the Minnesota hills.
Inspiration
- The Krill Report
- A comprehensive look at the mythology surrounding UFO's and the
"Conspiracy". Great background info that forms much of the story of Delta
Green.
- Majestic 12
- Supposedly, a classified document detailing the existence and
operations
of the "real" Majestic 12 group. Majestic 12 is the name of the group of
government officials originally formed after the "Roswell incident" whose
goal is to keep the existence of extraterrestials on Earth a secret from
the populace. MJ12 are most encountered human antagonists of Delta Green.
