If this was TFOS, IÕd give her the knack of ÒBurn With The
Fire of Righteous Anger, +2Ó. A successfull knack roll would result
in her being enveloped with bright red flames (Òburning, but not
consumedÓ) which would set off sprinkler systems, combust nearby
textbooks, etc. Her friends would whip out hot dogs and marshmallows and
have a impromptu cook-out!
Profession: High School Student by Day, Vigilante By Night
Background - Lower Working CLass
Family:
Father: Norton Fitzgerald Brough - retired CyberMechaMoto
racer. Owns a CMM garage now.
Mother: Josie Curran Brough - missing, presumed dead
Siblings: Harley & David Brough, older brothers, twins, novice
CyberMechaMoto racers
Friends:
Bayern Zundapp (Uncle Bay), retired CyberMechaMoto racer, competitor
of her father's. Owns The Crankshaft, bar & grill favored by racers
(one step up from a biker bar).
Gruff and distant to most, India Brough is a new student at PSC HS, a transfer
from the gang-ridden Cranktown High School. She's a bit apprehensive about
going to a new school, but if you get past her defenses, she's friend for
life.
Since the only real male role models she's seen up close are her brothers,
she has very little use for the male of the species at the moment. But
that could change.
IndiaÕs mother vanished during the last big Insectoid incursion
(strangely enough, she was seen alive AFTER the main attack had already
been defeated). As a result, sheÕs grown up as a the Òthird
sonÓ of the family, as much out of self-preservation as the lack
of a female role model. She speaks in the masculine mode (assuming that
feature of Japanese made it to Japlish), and is found more often in jeans
and t-shirt than girls clothing. She even wears the boyÕs uniform
at school, much to the dismay of Ms Knight.
Ms Knight: Miss Brough! Was is the meaning of wearing a boy's uniform
to school!
It's disgraceful!
India: Well, my brother Harley brought me school on the back of
his bike today,
so what'd be more disgraceful: me weain' pants, or riding
through Arima
showing my undies to everybody on the street when we corner?
::Next scene - India standing in the school corridor, holding a bucket
of sand and wearing sign that says "Disrespectful of Authority."::
India: Me and my big mouth.....
India is slim, with a wiry build, red hair, and brown eyes. She wears her
hair short on the front and top, with a thin pony tail hanging down her
back. As noted before she as often or not wears the boys uniform to school,
and almost always has a toothpick in her mouth when she's not in class.
Ms Knight: Miss Brough! Why are you chewing on that piece of wood!
It's unhygenic!
India: Well, you know, teach, its only unhygenic if its somebody
else's toothpick
you're chewing on...
::Next scene - India standing in the school corridor, holding TWO buckets
of sand and wearing sign that says "Disrespectful of Authority AND
Unhygenic."::
India: Note to myself: when you're around Ms Knight, SHUT UP!!!
If there is one thing ÒIndyÓ canÕt stand, itÕs
bullies. She cut quite a swath through them in elementary and middle school.
When she got to high school, she turned her attention to the gangs that
dominated the school. Whether with her bare fists or with her powersuit,
Tyger, she was their unremitting foe while at Cranktown.
She currently works part-time at her father's garage, doing some minor
work on the big CyberMechaMoto racers that come in, and with her painting
talent has gotten some comissions to do custom paint jobs for a few of
the machines.
Her most prized possession is her father's old CMM racer, "Catamount,"
which she is currently stripping down and rebuilding. It's mostly frame
right now, and decidedly not street ready.
Side Note: What is CyberMechaMoto racing?
Glad you asked! It's the 22nd century's answer to Motocross! A CCM looks
something like a Garland from Megazone 23, except that CMMs tend toward
trikes or 4 wheelers. When in cycle mode legs of the unit stay extended
rearward and are supported by wheels on the ground. The front of the CMM
is on a single wheel mounted in the torso, or on a pair supported by the
arms. The cockpit is a saddle-type in both humanoid and cycle modes.
The races tend to take place in the roughest terrain imaginable, so the
racers often transform to humanoid form to scale the worst of it. Thrusters
and jumpjets are not allowed. Classes are divided up by powerplant rating.
Outright fighing is not allowed, but "aggressive blocking" is
overlooked for the sake of the game's popularity!
