NetGrrls

Militant Lesbian Computer Hackers

The NetGrrls are a gang local to Portland and Seattle composed of militant lesbian computer hackers. Their foster a radical political agenda and use their computer skills to further their goals.

Their tactics range from disrupting the computer systems of their political enemies to stealing information to help their cause or hurt the causes of their opponents. They also use their skills to hijack mainstream media in order to spread their agenda.

The NetGrrls is a close-knit community of young women. All the members have green hair. They usually choose abandoned warehouses or buildings as their hangouts and bases of operations, and are sure to change hangouts randomly and often. They are led by the brilliant young Miria Genius. Miria was a star programmer and sysadmin at her corporate high school in Seattle. She was a shoe-in for corporate sponsorship at the University of Washington and a cushy job at MegaSoft. Unfortunately, her extra-curricular activities were revealed by her ex-best friend Jason Anderson. Jason betrayed her and was rewarded by the High School's sponsor: MegaSoft. Miria was expelled and has been unable to find work since. She eventually  moved to Portland to work for Intech but soon lost that job as well. She founded the NetGrrls for moral and technical support, and the group has thrived ever since.

Rick Kulland befriended the NetGrrls through his sentient motorcycle AI, Dychstra. The NetGrrls were impressed by Dychstra's programming and her ability to crack servers. Dychstra, although "heterosexual" (as far as an intelligent motorcycle can be), was a kindred spirit with the NetGrrls, and they trusted her and, in turn, Rick. They helped Rick out on occasion when he needed Hacking assistance or consulting. In return, Rick helped keep them out of trouble with the law.
