Toshi Nagata was a corporate espionage agent in the employ of Genom performing various acts of information gathering and sabotage against other corporations. He constantly led a double life: that of a shrewd agent at work and that of a loving husband at home. His work was soulless and without conscious until Genom developed an even less moral soulless espionage agent, the Boomer. Toshi soon found himself competing against the very product his company produces. Unfortunately, when he attempted to retire, he discovered Genom has no "official" retirement plan for their agents. In other words, his choice was either death or complete memory erasure.

Toshi broke from the company anyway and for the past 4 years has led the life of a fugitive. Things eventually settled down and he and his wife had their first child, a daughter. It was looking as if his life was finally back to normal when last year, a year after the birth of his daughter, Genom found and attacked his house. Toshi managed to escape with his child but his wife had disappeared and no trace of her body was found at the wreckage of their home. Police records say the house was destroyed by a gas main explosion and that his wife is dead. Toshi knows it was Genom and has vowed to find out what happened to his wife at all cost. He was now a true Ronin, a masterless Samurai, homeless and directionless, on the run once again from his former mast ers. Then he was approached by Alisa Thomas regarding a job and a home, and the possiblity of striking back against Genom. Toshi is now the pilot of the Cyclops, the long range strike hardsuit of the Dragon Knights.
