IriaFemale Assasin Boomer
Iria was Meg's partner in the days before Meg's independence. They were similar model boomers, given Genom's toughest assassination operations. They worked well together and even developed a kind of boomer "friendship." This kind of emotional bonding is forbidden in Genom, however, so Meg was ordered to report for re-programming. Meg refused and sued for independence, which she later earned. Iria was jealous of Meg, and a resentment formed. She kept his secret, for if Genom discovered such an emotion, she'd be ordered for immediate re-programming as well. So she kept her resentment hidden for years eventually developing it into an intense and irrational hatred. Several years later, Genom mysteriously approached Meg for a freelance operation. Odd, for Genom doesn't normally hire freelancers, especially not formerly Genom-owned boomers who gained their independence at Genom's expense. Meg was desperate, however, and needed the money, so stoo the job. The job, as it turns out, was orchestrated by Iria, wishing to exact revenge on Meg. It went bad, Meg discovered the treachery, and Iria was killed. For the death, Meg was placed on Genom's death list. They could not report the matter to police, of course (it was a failed assassination attempt against a NATO dignitary), but they could hunt Meg for the rest of her life. Meg has been in hiding ever since. Iria did not die, however, she was recovered by a black-market boomer reseller and reconditioned. Her savior wished to have a love-doll, but Iria was more than that. Iria played along at being the reseller's lover for years, all the while manipulating him into serving her. She had hoped that she could derive some pleasure that the Genom hit-teams would eventually find Meg and eliminate her, but as months turned into years nothing came of it. It was then that Iria hatched her latest scheme. Iria re-contacted an old Genom friend, a former lover who is a prominent Genom executive, and had her inactive Genom account re-activated. She then arranged the release of three combat boomers. She also had the boomer security guard at the Genom Bank replaced by a temporary human security guard. She then had her face and boomer transponder code re-conditioned to look exactly like Meg. Iria then accompanied her three Boomer cronies on a failed late-night robbery of the Genom Bank which resulted in the hostage-taking and eventual killing of the human secutiy guard. After a stand-off with the police, the boomers kept the responding Dragon Knights busy while Iria made her escape. She did not escape, however, without revealing to the Portland ADPolice that she was, for all intents and purposes, Meg. If Genom would not hunt her down, then the ADPolice would. Now all she has to do is sit back and let the ADPolice do her work for her. CAMPAIGN UPDATE: Iria's plan was revealed when Toshi and Meg were caught trying to infiltrate the Genom NW tower to retrieve information. There were detained and the ADPolice were called. Rick, having made the Iria-Meg connection after investigating an apparently unrelated murder scene of the black-market boomer technician, was already on his way to Genom NW to question Toy Tanaka. Alisa responded to rescue Toshi and Meg and assaulted the tower penthouse in her Switchblade. Rick arrived on the scene, and when directed to arrest Meg by Toy, presented his evidence against Iria and demanded to see any files regarding her manufacture. Iria, who was hiding in the shadows, went beserk and revealed herself. She attacked Meg and Toshi but was immobilized by Toshi. Wounded, Iria revealed her terrible secret: Within her body beated the heart of her unborn human child! She broke down and began to cry. Her mad quest for vengeance and freedom had been foiled. It was then revealed that she had been living with the boomer-technician who had illegally modified her body to be able to bear children. The hormonal imbalance was more than Iria could stand, and mixed with her hatred of Meg, caused her to snap. She killed her lover and returned to Toy, who had honestly no idea of her plan to frame Meg. Toy was simply suprised to learn that Iria was still alive and thought that the cosmetic alterations were to please him (Toy had always had an attraction to Meg). Of course, that was Toy's story.
