Explorer-Class Survey Ship
The Explorer-class is a small Federation ship used to explore the unknown reaches of the Frontier. It has a crew of 20, half of which are scientific personnel. The ship is well armed and its shields, which were originally intended to allow the ship to enter the outer photosphere of stars, give the ship a high chance of surviving in a fight. Also the ship is easily refitted and can be used for almost anything. The medical facility is easilly removed, providing an extra 20 tons of cargo space and the labs can be removed to give an extra 30 tons.
